From May 23 to 30, 2026, Montenegro will be the heart of the fifth International Canyoning Gathering, a week of adventure, nature, and sharing within the “Woody Montenegro” project, organized by the Vertical Water ASD team.
Seven days immersed in one of the wildest regions of Europe, where canyoning becomes a tool for exploration, connection, and discovery. An experience designed for those who approach mountains and water with respect, curiosity, and a strong team spirit.
As tradition dictates, the gathering maintains an essential and wild approach: no unnecessary comforts, but a return to an authentic experience, lived in close contact with nature and with people.
Hidden canyons, little-traveled trails, ancient ruins, and untouched landscapes will frame a journey that goes far beyond a single descent — a path of discovery, exploration, and shared experience.
Montenegro offers an extraordinary setting:
towering mountains, remote valleys, and spectacular canyons carved by water over millennia. It is an ideal environment for canyoning, but also for those who wish to experience the gathering in a different way, through trekking, slow exploration, and observation of the landscape.
The meeting is open both to those who want to actively take part in canyon descents and to those who choose to live the experience as a journey, an encounter, and an immersion in nature.
Woody Montenegro is not just a sporting event, but a meeting point for people who share common values: respect for the environment, a spirit of adventure, cooperation, and a deep passion for water and mountains.

Base Camp– Auto Camp Usce
The gathering will be based at Auto Camp Usce, near Podgorica, an ideal starting point for exploring canyons and hiking trails. The campsite offers simple yet functional accommodations, perfectly suited to experiencing the wild spirit of our event.

How to get there
Il raduno si svolgerà presso Auto Camp Usce, nella località di Vranjina, nei pressi di Podgorica (Montenegro).
✈️By Plane
To reach the gathering area, we recommend flying into one of the following airports:
Podgorica Airport (TGD)
This is the main international airport in Montenegro.
It is located about 10–13 km from the city center of Podgorica and approximately 15–20 minutes by car from Auto Camp Usce.
Tivat Airport (TIV)
Located on the Adriatic coast, it is about 44 km from Podgorica and Vranjina.
The transfer by car takes approximately 45–60 minutes, depending on traffic.
From both airports it is possible to rent a car and easily reach the campsite.
Whenever possible, a 4×4 vehicle or a car with good ground clearance is recommended, especially for those traveling with equipment or planning to move around natural areas.
⛴️ By ferry
Montenegro can also be reached by sea, with connections from Italy:
Italy (Bari or Ancona) → Bar (Montenegro)
The port of Bar is located about 50 km from Podgorica.
From the port, you can continue by rental car or private transport; the travel time to Auto Camp Usce is approximately 1 hour.

ACCOMODATION
Auto Camp Usce – Vranjina (Montenegro)
During the meeting in Montenegro, we will be hosted by Auto Camp Usce, a campsite immersed in nature located in Vranjina, near Podgorica. It boasts a unique location at the confluence of the Morača River and Skadar Lake.
The area is exceptionally quiet and green, ideal for those who love natural environments, water, and outdoor activities. The campsite provides the perfect base for the meeting, fostering sharing, socializing, and an essential, authentic lifestyle.
Accommodation Options
Auto Camp Usce offers various overnight solutions:

Campers and Vans: Equipped pitches with electrical hookups, fresh water filling, and dedicated areas for gray water and chemical toilet disposal.

Tents: Pitches on grass for single or multiple tents, with access to all common campsite facilities.
Campsite Facilities

Optional Activities
Guests can participate in a boat tour of Skadar Lake, organized by the campsite.
The tour follows a route along the river and channels, passing near bird nesting areas, islands, and mountain massifs, leading out to the open lake before returning along the river.
