Fourth International Canyoning Meeting – Sardinia 2025/26

From December 27, 2025 to January 4, 2026, Sardinia will host the Fourth International Canyoning Meeting: seven days of adventure, nature, and togetherness with the “New Year Sardinia” project, organized by the Vertical Water ASD team.

As tradition goes, our meeting keeps the wild spirit alive: no unnecessary comforts, but an authentic and intense experience, in close contact with the island’s wildest soul. Among canyons, hidden trails, and evocative ruins, we will share a journey that is much more than a descent — it is a return to nature.

Sardinia will welcome us with its unique landscapes: towering mountains guarding spectacular canyons and breathtaking views. An unmissable opportunity for canyoning enthusiasts, but also for those who prefer trekking and wish to discover the island step by step, breathing in its authentic beauty.

WHERE AND WHEN

The event will take place from December 27, 2025, to Saturday, January 4, 2026, in Sardinia.

Base Camp – Camping Silana (Genna Silana, Urzulei)

The meeting will be based at Camping Silana, located at 1,010 meters above sea level in the heart of the Supramonte, an ideal starting point to explore canyons and trails. The facility offers simple yet functional accommodations, perfect for experiencing the wild spirit of our event.

How to reach the Meeting

To get to the meeting area (Camping Gorropu – Camper Area Genna Silana), we recommend landing at one of Sardinia’s three international airports: Cagliari-Elmas, Olbia-Costa Smeralda, or Alghero-Fertilia. From there, you can rent a car — preferably a 4×4 or a vehicle with good ground clearance — and easily reach the base camp in the heart of the Supramonte. The nearest airport is Olbia (about a 2-hour drive).

Photo Contests

During the meeting, photo contests will be held for:

• your best shots from past expeditions

• your best shots of Sardinian canyons

Awards will be presented during the final dinner.

Raffle prizes will only be awarded to participants present at the event.

I CANYON

ACCOMMODATION

We will be hosted at Camping Silana.

Available options

• Bungalows: 3 units with 4 beds each, with the possibility of adding one more bed in the living area (total capacity approx. 16 people).

• Tents: 10–15 available pitches.

• Campers: 20–25 equipped spaces.

Facilities

• Bathrooms: 4 restrooms.

• Showers: 6, with 200 liters of hot water available (limited supply).

• Water: supplied by a tank, drinkable but with a not-so-pleasant taste (excellent for cooking and washing).

• Electricity: power outlets available for all pitches.

• Barbecue: 1 shared barbecue + possibility of regulated fires in designated areas.

Indicative prices

• Camper: €25 per day

• Bungalow: €25 per person (limited spots, approx. 16 in total)

• Tent:

  • €15 for one person

  • €25 for two people

  • higher prices for larger tents

The campsite maintains a simple atmosphere, surrounded by nature, in line with the spirit of the meeting: less comfort, more authenticity.

The campsite fee is not included in the registration.
As an alternative, for less “wild” accommodation, we recommend contacting and booking hotels or guesthouses in the nearby town of Urzulei.

REGISTRATION & FEES

To facilitate organization, registration is divided into tiers with increasing costs as the event date approaches: the earlier you register, the less you pay, and the more you help the staff provide a better service.

First period: from 15/09/2025 to 31/10/2025

• Canyoner: €40

• VW member: €30

• Companion: €20

Second period: from 01/11/2025 to 30/11/2025

• Canyoner: €45

• VW member: €35

• Companion: €20

Third period: from 01/12/2025 to 25/12/2025

• Canyoner: €50

• VW member: €40

• Companion: €20

The registration fee includes:

• Access to the meeting areas

• Insurance (not for companions)

• Participation in all activities organized for the event

• “New Year Sardinia” booklet with canyon descriptions (not for companions)

• 2025–2026 event T-shirt

• Meeting wristband

• Gadgets

⚠️ The T-shirt and booklet are guaranteed for those who register before December 1st; later registrations will receive them subject to size and stock availability.

Registration procedure

To register for the meeting, you must fill out the online form and pay the fee within 3 days, sending an email with the payment receipt to: events@verticalwatercanyoning.com.

Please note:

• Registration is valid only after both the form and payment are received.

• The registration fee tier will be determined by the date of the bank transfer.

• If payment is not made within 3 days, the registration will be cancelled.

• Payment must be made via bank transfer.

• In the payment reference, indicate: “Meeting 2025–2026”, your full name, and, in case of group payment, the list of participants’ names.
